National Certificate in Visual Effects (VFX)

The Certificate in Visual Effects (VFX) at Kaliotte Institute is designed for students who are passionate about creating breathtaking visual effects for films, video games, advertisements, and other digital media. This program offers a hands-on approach, teaching students the techniques, software tools, and artistic skills necessary to create high-quality visual effects. From 3D modeling and animation to compositing and motion graphics, students will learn to design and produce visual elements that seamlessly blend with live-action footage.

What You Will Learn

  • Introduction to VFX: Overview of the VFX industry, its applications in film, television, and gaming, and the role of VFX artists in production.
  • 3D Modeling and Texturing: Learn how to create 3D models and texture them for use in visual effects, including environmental and character modeling.
  • 3D Animation: Study the principles of animation and learn how to bring 3D models to life through keyframing, rigging, and motion capture techniques.
  • Compositing: Master compositing techniques using software like **Nuke** and **After Effects** to integrate CGI elements with live-action footage.
  • Motion Graphics: Create dynamic graphics and animations for use in commercials, titles, and intros using tools like **After Effects** and **Cinema 4D**.
  • Visual Effects for Film: Techniques for creating realistic and stylized visual effects, such as explosions, fire, water, and environmental effects for film and TV.
  • Green Screen & Keying: Learn how to use green screen technology and keying techniques to replace backgrounds and integrate visual elements into a scene.
  • Lighting and Rendering: Understand the importance of lighting in VFX and learn how to set up realistic lighting and render 3D scenes using **Arnold** and **V-Ray**.
  • Visual Effects Simulation: Techniques for simulating natural phenomena like smoke, fire, water, and particle effects using programs like **Houdini**.
  • Post-Production Workflow: The process of integrating all VFX components into a final project, including color grading, sound effects, and editing.
